Overview

Join ZEBx, in partnership with BC Hydro and IBPSA-BC for a breakfast discussion to facilitate alignment amongst industry on what it takes to model (and design) Step 4 and Passive House multi-unit residential buildings (MURBs).

Step 4 and PH levels of performance are putting pressure on projects to pursue numerous and deep energy efficiency strategies, which need to be validated by energy models. Several modellers have expressed challenges in being able to achieve these levels of performance and are wondering if the limitations are around available and practical design strategies or around modelling limitations, incorrect use of assumptions, or mis-interpretation of energy modelling guidelines.

The event format will be discussion-based, following specific case study presentations from IBPSA-BC members. The objectives of the session are to identify barriers and corresponding solutions that may be needed to more effectively achieve our high performance outcomes.
